Ali Forced to Leave Switzerland for Spain (August 18, 09)
Ali had some problem in 2005 and he decided to leave Iran for Canada. His passer-by took him to Morocco first and then to Spain where he arrested by authorities. After that his passer-by tried one more time to send him to Canada but it was not successful. He arrested in Morocco and deported back to Yemen and then to Iran. He arrested by Iranian regime and he was spend six months in jail because of his illegal action. Now, He is in one of European countries and he forced to go to Spain according to Europe regulations. Ali received a letter from Swiss authorities that he has to leave Switzerland within 72 hours. They gave him trains pass for free within Switzerland but he has to pay his travel expenses to Spain. Also Ali received a referral letter for Spain. He has been asked again to support him in order to pay his travel expenses. We estimated that at least he needs 300 Euros for ticket and food. Also he needs some money to have in his pocket for the very first few days in Spain. So far we have sent $428 for Ali to pay for his living expenses as well as legal matters. We hope that he will receive some social services in Spain when he registered. IRQR has limited financial resources which are come from our generous financial supporters and we need more help and support in order to help Ali and other refugees who need help. IRQR is working with more that 250 refugee cases nationwide. Most of them need help and support. Without your help our hands is so tight. Beside financial support for Ali, we need to find some legal support in Spain for Ali including pro bono solicitor, organization’s reports and documents to support Ali’s case. First,
we should thank you for supporting Ali in Switzerland in last few days.
We were able to help Ali by your generous donations. We have regular
contact with him on daily bases. Yesterday he informed us that Switzerland
authority asked him to leave there for Spain because in 2005 he has been
arrested there and Spain government has his finger print and file. Due to
Dublin agreement he has to go to Spain and follow his case there.
